Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology

John Brown University’s Department of Kinesiology offers two degree programs:

Along with the two major programs there is a minor in Health and Sport available to students, as well as a Coaching Emphasis for Education majors.

Prof. Walker and student in classPrograms within the Kinesiology Department have been designed to give students practical, hands-on experience in the field of wellness. Faculty members provide an academic and practitioner perspective by incorporating their work with athletic teams on campus. The Walton Lifetime Health Complex provides students and faculty with a superb facility to conduct labs and practice skills being taught in the classroom. Each student in the Kinesiology department will complete an internship with JBU varsity sports teams and in the fitness centers that prepares them to take the next step towards a career in physical wellness.
