Admissions requirements?
Application, two references, an ACT or a SAT score (we do not count the writing portion only math  and verbal), and a high school transcript.

What activities are offered?
Intramural sports, Cause ministries, Airjam, Passion groups, SGA (more about student clubs and organizations.)

Where can I live?
Residence Halls (J. Alvin, Mayfield, Walker, North), duplexes, townhouses; seniors can live off campus. Visit our Residence Life and Housing Site for everything you need to know.

How do I choose a roommate?
You can either request a roommate ahead of time, meet someone at Early Registration Process (ERP) and choose them, or just fill out the lifestyle info form for us and let us decide.

What should I bring?

Will I have my own telephone and internet connection?
Yes, there are telephone jacks and two internet terminals per room. Learn more on the Information Technology Services web site.

What are the academic requirements to get into JBU?
GPA: 2.5 Unweighted

Can freshmen bring cars?
Yes, but you might be parking in “freshman parking” which means out in the
boonies.

How many students attend JBU?
Currently there are over 1200 undergrad (900 on campus), over 200 graduate students, and over 400 Adult Degree Completion Students. for a total student population of 1,900.

What are some lifestyle expectations for students?
As followers of Christ, we expect your life and actions to reflect the character of God, but we don't bog you down with rules. There are four core principles (Scripture, Integrity, Uniqueness, and Community) that serve as guides. You can find out more about them by reading our Community Covenant.

There are no dress codes, curfews, or car restrictions on campus.

Statement of Faith
The doctrinal position of the institution is contained in the following Articles of Faith which have been adopted by the National Association of Christian Schools:

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
6. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Largest and unique majors?
Digital Media Arts, Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical), Construction Management, Education, Business, Communications (Radio and TV Broadcasting).

Chapel requirements?
Chapel is three times a week, on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. You are required to attend twenty-one chapels a semester.

Who was John Brown?
JBU is named after John E. Brown Sr., a Christian evangelist, radio broadcaster, and entrepreneur.
John Brown wanted to provide Christian education for students who could not afford college. Today, our commitment to needy students and quality Christian education remains strong.

What is our religious affiliation?
JBU is interdenominational with the largest percentage of our students coming from Baptist, Bible, and Presbyterian Churches.

What is there to do off campus?
In Siloam Springs there are several coffee shops, many video rental places, a bowling alley, a movie theater, a Sonic, and a Wal-mart Supercenter. In Northwest Arkansas, there are malls, movie theaters, tons of coffee shops, all kinds of stores, and basically everything you can find in a large city except for a Six Flags, or a lot of smog!

Do you accept AP and CLEP scores?
Yes, we accept both. A score of a three on the AP exam will count for one class, a four or five will usually count for two classes. Click here for more on CLEP testing.

How safe is campus? We have campus security officers who are on campus 24 hours a day, and our local police department regularly patrol campus. Over the past five years, JBU has not had any major incidences on campus. Read more about safety on JBU’s campus.
